Deep Tissue Back Massage
This is my number one massage treatment and I can tell you why…..
1. It can help solve a real problem
Many people carry chronic tension in their back, shoulders, and neck from desk work, stress, or physical strain.
Deep tissue massage targets those stubborn knots and adhesions that lighter techniques don’t always reach.
2. People feel noticeable relief
Clients often walk out feeling freer, looser, and more mobile, sometimes after just one session.
The intensity of deep tissue makes people feel like they’re getting a real “fix,” not just relaxation.
3. I have a lengthy and proven record in this industry
Deep tissue is tricky—done poorly, it can feel painful or leave clients sore in a bad way.
My touch is both firm and intuitive (knowing when to ease up or go deeper), clients keep coming back for maintenance and not just for fixing
4. I work intuitively and holistically
Not every massage therapist offers skilled deep tissue – I approach my treatments to reset the nervous system, promote relaxation of the body and mind.
5. Word of mouth & reputation
When a client finally finds a therapist who can really work out the knots without injury, they tell their friends.

A deep tissue back massage goes far beyond relaxation — it’s designed to work on the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, making it one of the most effective treatments for chronic tension and stiffness.
🌿 Key Benefits of a Deep Tissue Back Massage
- Releases chronic muscle tension Targets deeper layers of muscle to break up tight knots and long‑held tension.
- Improves mobility and flexibility Loosens stiff areas in the back, shoulders, and hips, helping the body move more freely.
- Reduces pain and discomfort Helpful for people with ongoing back pain, muscle strain, or postural imbalances.
- Breaks up scar tissue Deep pressure can help soften adhesions from old injuries, improving range of motion.
- Enhances circulation Increased blood flow supports healing and reduces inflammation.
- Supports better posture By releasing tight muscles, the body can realign more naturally.
- Relieves stress and mental tension Even though the pressure is firm, the slow, intentional strokes activate the body’s relaxation response.
- Aids recovery from workouts Helps flush out metabolic waste and reduce soreness after intense physical activity.
- Improves sleep quality Relaxed muscles and reduced pain make it easier for the body to rest deeply.
Deep Tissue Massage – Here’s the science!
When our muscular movement is impaired due to injury, bad posture, or a even something as simple as a bad nights sleep the fluids our muscles need to help function and repair cannot reach the areas they need to lubricate the fascia. This then becomes hard, and develops a scar like tissue, this traps lactic acid and other toxins preventing our bodies from healing naturally and functioning normally. This can cause pain and discomfort throughout the back and other body parts.
A thorough deep tissue massage can help and your therapist will use a combination of techniques to ensure you leave feeling revitalised, less stiff with an improved sense of good health.
At the Alchemy Wellbeing Centre you will experience a massage of your back, neck and scalp to help with your existing condition.
Pneumatic Massage
Pneumatic Massage has been used in the physical therapy and sports medicine industries for more than 45 years! I use a fantastic electronic massage machine with built in infra red heat which is beneficial to anyone who competes in sport, works out regularly, or is involved in strenuous work ie, labouring or care work. When used within a massage this can help to enhance flexibility, increase range-of-motion, and reduce the risk of muscle spasms, strains or contusions.
Pneumatic Massage can help to accelerate the healing process, to reduce pain and swelling by flushing out lactic acid build up in the muscles, and to relieve muscle pain caused by work and stress. Excellent for the relief of, repair of, and resistance to repetitive motion disorders. (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, tendonitis, tenosynovitis, etc.) This will be used as part of your treatment if required.
